What's In My Handbag | MoneySupermarket Competition

I've vowed to start posting more personal posts, and I thought the MoneySupermarket What's In My Handbag competition was a great way to start. You can find the details of this competition here. There are great prizes to be won, along with 6 £25 ASOS vouchers, curtsey of Fashion Perks. I love these kind of posts (mainly because I'm really nosey) and decided to take the plunge to see how much I really carry around with me, gulp.

River Island Bag - £25.00, River Island Purse - £20 (Purse contents roughly £40), iPod Classic - £200, iPod Holder - £10, Lighter - £1, Pack of Cards - £1, Compact Mirror - £2, Cath Kidston Diary - £9, Glasses - £80, Sunglasses - £4, iPhone 4S - worth approx £449, Vans iPhone Case - £25.00, Makeup Bag - £6.99, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - £3.99, Maybelline Rocket Volum Mascara - £7.99, Benefit Boi-ing Concealer - £17.50, MAC Studio Fix Powder - £20.50, Revlon ColourStay Ultimate Suede - £8.99, Superdrug Hair Grips - £1.39. Total = £933.35

Eeeeek! Nearly £1000, no way am I carrying around that much with me every day?! I'm pretty ridiculous when it comes to packing a bag, hence the pack of cards. You never know when they might come in handy! I'm really shocked at that amount, oh man. I knew it'd be pretty high from my iPod, iPhone and Makeup but jeeeeeez. Link me if you guys have done this competition, I love having a nose in other peoples bags!

Topshop spring wish list ... and wishful thinking!

Is it true? Is Spring finally here!? The sun has been out for the past few days and I actually went out without a jacket yesterday, eek! It's meant to get colder next week but let's just pretend that that's not true. The only way to respond to this weather to to spend all of my student loan on clothes, obviously.

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

Everything here is from Topshop, oops. I love their Spring collection, it's all so pretty! I'm so happy that pinafores are back, they're so cute, and this paisley patterned one is a must have. I have a really bad habit of buying the same top in different colours, so I decided to just shove them both on this wish list. They're such a lovely shape and can be dressed up or down. I love this oversized denim jacket. I had a fitted one last year but I've grown out of it, and I've fallen head over heels for this. I've been umming and ahhing over this dress for ages. I think the shape is pretty weird but I kinda like it, I think it'll look nice with a collared shirt under. My crop top collection is rapidly growing, and this casual off-white one needs to be added.

I can justify spending all my loan on this, right?

New York, your lights are so bright.

I'm back! New York was pretty much the best week of my life. So many memories crammed into the week, so it was super hard to fit them into a four minute long video. I think videos are better to look back on than pictures, but I've uploaded a few images to my Facebook if any of you are friends with me over there. But yeah, here's my New York video! I have a few beauty reviews lined up for the next few days, having money to spend in the airport always results in duty free beauty buys.

Christmas spirit.

(Pretty much the most festive nightwear ever. It's acceptable to clash when it's christmas)

Every year a few days before christmas, me and mum always go down to London. We finish our last bits of christmas shopping and at the end of the day go for mulled wine! We went to winter wonderland for the first time this year. If you're not feeling chritmassy yet, definitely visit it. Christmas songs everywhere, people dressed up, mulled wine at every corner!! Ahh it was amazing. I was lucky enough to have £200 worth of Topshop vouchers this year, totally in heaven. I desperately needed new clothes so this came at such a great time. I have a few outfit posts lined up for the next couple of weeks, I'm determined to be a good blogger over the christmas period! Anyway, just a quick post to share some of the pictures I took and hopefully get a few of you even more in the festive spirit. Three days!!

Every day make-up (University edition!)

I've had quite a few people recently ask me how I change my make-up for every day to nights out. I have massive issues with getting up in the mornings, so every weekday I have a debate with myself about how long I can stay in bed before I'm late to uni. I actually start crossing things off my morning to-do list like eating breakfast so I can have the extra five minutes! To save time applying foundation, poweder, etc, I have recently started to use MACs Studio Fix Powder. I tried just using powder and skipping foundation but as my skin is quite oily in areas, powder without foundation just emphasised shine. MAC has described Studio Fix Powder as 'a foundation and powder in one', so this reduces the shine in my face as well as giving me complete coverage in half the time it would take to apply both! Laziness as its finest. This applied with Benefits 'They're Real!' mascara and boi-ing concealer, an ancient blusher that I love but actually have no idea what it is (the labels worn off over the years, this was my mums before it was mine!), and Maybellines Lipstick and I'm ready to go! I'll add eyeliner if I'm out for the entire day, but for hour lectures I just can't deal with the effort!

Do you guys change your make-up routine depending on where you're going?

Decoration ideas!

Something I always end up completely obsessing about is how to decorate a room. I end up redecorating my room pretty much monthly. I moved into my new house almost two months ago and I'm already wanting to redecorate! Winter's such a great excuse to buy fairylights, new bedsheets, candles, and of course covering everything in tinsel! I feel like a persons bedroom represents who they are so I like to update mine with how I feel (is that weird? whatever!). I've been browsing pinterest instead of doing my assignments for the past few days and I just wanted to share my favourite images, so much inspiration!

Me and my friend are moving into our own house soon so I've been looking at things to try and decorate our living room with. Probably getting ahead of ourselves but it needs to look perfect! Something I am looking into is getting some home insurance. I've heard some horror stories about people's house getting broken into so I don't think it's worth taking the risk and going without. Definitely better safe than sorry!

I'm so excited to decorate, such a great use of my student loan, aha! Do you guys have any decoration tips?

Peach fuzz

Just a quick post and bad iPhone quality picture to say, I dyed my hair peach! I've been wanting a change of hair for the past few weeks, but I have an emotional attachment to my white hair so I was reluctant to dye it! After searching the internet for a few weeks I decided I loved peach hair so decided to give it a go. I added a little bit too much conditioner so it didn't come out quite as dark as I wanted, so I'll probably redo it again over christmas. I love the colour it turned out though! :)

I've had a pretty busy weekend home from uni! I finally saw Breaking Dawn Part 2 (so good!!), went christmas shopping and accidentally bought myself some Benefit goodies (review coming up soon) and spent today looking at the christmas decorations up at Garden and Leisure. So in the christmas spirit now!

Happy Halloween!

This is my first year on blogger for Halloween and I'm glad that everyone gets into the spirit! I absolutely love playing around with make up and dressing up so it comes as no surprise that Halloween is one of my favourite holidays! I've had so much fun looking at other bloggers costumes over the past few days, it's already given me some ideas for next year!

I went out yesterday, actually on Halloween. I just went to town with a group of friends. We didn't have matching costumers or anything though so we probably looked like the weirdest group of people ever! Anyway, this year I went as ........ an unzipped face!

I STILL don't have my camera so I only have phone and webcam quality pictures but I still think it looks pretty awesome! I was surprised with how simple this was to achieve actually. I just bought a zip, some liquid latex to use as the glue, red face paint and fake blood! I bought a cheap primark top to use too because I wanted to splatter the blood all over it but it'd look fine without one. I got so many compliments on it last night! So many groups of people stopped and said they liked it, so proud of myself!

I probably get too excited with halloween haha, turning up to my 9am lecture this morning still tinted pink was not one of my finest moments...

Guess who's back?

Emma's back, tell your friends! ...ahem, sorry sometimes my secret love for Eminem gets the better of me! Wow, over a month since my last post! Sorry for going completely awol guys. I moved back to university and second year is a lot harder than I thought; it's kicking my ass to be honest! I've got on top(ish...) of my workload at the moment so I finally have time to blog again!

I love christmas so much, literally everything about it. Cold winter nights, grey skies, layering, hot chocolate, hot water bottles... everything! I'm getting more and more excited for my favourite time of the year every day, so I thought now would be the perfect time to make my christmas clothes wishlist!

1 // 2 // 3 // 4

Okay, so I probably got a bit carried away with the decorations.... But you can never be too christmassy!

How lovely is this ombre cardi from Miss Selfridge?! The colours go so well together and it looks like the perfect cardigan to hibernate in during the cold weather. I actually found this in store the other day and it's such a lovely material. I love living in oversized knitwear in winter, so this jumper from Topshop seems like a good way to go!

I'm determind to keep up with my blog this year, I will not be defeated by assignments! If I haven't posted by this time next week someone yell at me!

Back to Northampton!

Woah, almost two weeks since I last posted. Sorry guys! I just moved back to Northampton for my second year of university so I've been really busy packing and getting settled in (and getting drunk obviously!) and not had time to post! Being me, I forgot to bring loads of things, including my camera! I was going to review this great new moisturiser I've been using but I'll save that for next month when I can actually get some decent quality pictures to show you. Instead, here are pictures of my new house! They're from my phone so the sizing is weird and the quality is awful but oh well! It's me and two other people living here and I really like it! So excited for this year! :D

Mallzee; the new online shopping experience.

Have you ever wished that you could have a shopping mall filled only with the clothes that you love? How would you like to get rid of the stores that you hate and have only your favourite brands on display? Sounds like a dream right? Well, opening soon is a new website called Mallzee that has made this dream a reality.

Mallzee's main idea is to create an entirely new experience for online shopping. You can pick your favourites from over 200 brands and stores that Mallzee have signed up (Urban Outfitters, New Look etc), and add them to your own personalised Mall. The website then cleverly analyses your personal style based on your favourites and recommends you products in your Mall.

Whenever I'm online shopping, I always end up linking items to my friends to get their opinions. I'm sure most of you guys do too! Mallzee has incorporated this factor by allowing your friends to visit your Mall and even buy things from it! Friends can even star items that they think you will love. If you are stuck between two items of clothing you can create a poll and get your friends to vote on what they think.

If this hasn't convinced you to sign up, how would you like to know that you can even earn money through shopping on Mallzee? Every time someone buys something from your personal Mall, you earn a certain amount of cash! How awesome!

Mallzee opens to the public later on this year. You can currently sign up at www.mallzee.com and recieve a launch invite when the website becomes live. Mallzee are keen to get the word out about their website as it will increase the chances of more stores signing up, therefore more options being available to the public. They are currently holding an awesome competition, where if you tweet about the website you are entered into a competition to win £100 of shopping vouchers and other awesome prizes!

I'm really excited about Mallzee, I think it's such an awesome idea and will definitely help keep control of all of the different clothes that I'm lusting over. What do you guys think?

I remember the nights we spent under city lights.

I'm not sure if you guys know this, but music is a massive part of my life. It's got me through some rough times and pretty much made me enjoy the good times even more! Even though I'm nineteen I still fangirl over my favourite bands like I did when I was fourteen, and I don't even care! Incase you missed my last post, I spent this bank holiday weekend at Reading Festival and spent the entire time drinking cider and watching some of my favourite bands. Pretty much the best weekend ever.

I left Thursday morning and got the bus to Cambridge. Me and Hayley then caught the coach to Reading, but because we were the last ones on we didn't get to sit together which sucked! We had to then do the massive trek to our tent which our friends took down on Wednesday. Pretty much had to stop for a break every five seconds cos our bags weighed so much. Finally made it to our tent, went to get food and then just chilled with our fire for the night.

Friday was my best day due to the bands playing so I was so excited. I finally got to see Crystal Castles, a band I've been wanting to see for years now. I knew how mental the crowds were but oh god, it was insane! As soon as the song started, I lost my friend within about ten seconds. I got dragged into a circle pit and ended up at the complete different end of the stage to which I started. Alice Glass is insane live though, her voice is so surreal. You Me At Six is another band that I love but I've never got around to seeing live. They were just as awesome as I was expecting. I can't believe they played The Swarm, so happy to hear that live! Then of course, we have the main reason I got a ticket to the festival in the first place; Paramore. They have been my favourite band for years now and it was so good to see them again. That was my third time seeing them live and they were just as brilliant as I remember. It was so good hearing their new stuff live for the first time!

My highlight of Saturday was definitely seeing We Are The In Crowd. I haven't been into their stuff for long but I've fallen hard for it and they've quickly became one of my favourite bands. They played most of my favourite songs and I was so glad they played a mixture of their album and EP! During their set Tay Jardine told the audience to lift the people next to them up on their shoulders for the next song, so this guy shoved me in the air and it was such a great feeling haha. They played in the Festival Republic stage so it was quite a small venue, so being in the air dancing to WATIC, making eye contact with all of the members was something I'll remember forever.

We all decided that it would be really funny to get drunk for All Time Low on Sunday. It proved to be slightly disastrous when Hayley almost puked in the mosh pit but it was so hilarious hahaha. Pretty much just screamed the entire set (may have screamed gash way too many times, this weekend was just filled with banter) but whatever. Foo Fighters was a gig that I'll remember forever. Such a surreal experience seeing them live. I knew so many more songs than I thought I would and Dave's voice live is breath taking.

This weekend has been so great, not just with the music but with just generally having a great time hanging out with some friends, drinking and camping (minus mine and Hayley's leaking tent...) Hopefully I'll be going back next year!

Sorry about the massive text post, if you've read this far you deserve a medal! I have some awesome things lined up to review in the next few days so keep your eyes peeled for reviews up soon.

I'm off to Reading!

Sorry I've been a bad blogger recently! I've been working loads and trying to sort everything out. As you can tell from the title of this post, I'm off to Reading Festival! I'll be gone from 23rd-27th, and sleeping/working when I get back so I'm not sure when I'll get the chance to post again.

I thought I'd made this post a little bit more interesting by showing what I'm taking! Don't worry, I haven't been silly and forgotten my tent, my friends have earlybird and have taken that down for me! I'm awful at packing so there's bound to be something that I've forgotten. I'm just impressed that I've actually packed before the day of leaving!

Topshop Top | New Look Top | Miss Selfridge Top | Zara Top | M&S Jumper | H&M Cardigan | Glamorous Shorts | Topshop Shorts

Travel Pills | Sellotape | Mirror | Shoe Covers (aha!) | Suncream | Sweets | Binbags | Sunglasses | Socks | Square Bars | Crisps

Cider | Dry Shampoo | Toothpaste | Cards | Vodka | Wellies

Sleeping Mat | Sleeping Bag | Poncho | Blanket | Pillow

Everything packed! Not really sure How I'm gonna get all of this to Reading however...

I'm very probably going to end up breaking my back/losing my arms trying to carry all of this to Cambridge and then to Reading but it'll be totally worth it! There are some other things I'm taking that I forgot to take a picture of but you get the overall idea, aha. I'll probably post about how it was at the end of next week or something, bye guys!
